Written Language

Our focus at present is recount writing.
  1. recount tells about something that happened in the past. The details in a recount can include what happened, who was involved, where it took place, when it happened and why it occurred. A writer or speaker uses a recount to tell us about a story or an event.
We talk about including answers to these questions in our recount - who? when? where?what? why? how?

We also talk about correct use of punctuation in our daily writing  - where to put fullstops and capitals.
We think about how to spell known words correctly and how to work out other words from the sounds we can hear.
